The 6th cohort of the Data Design Program begins in the 2026 academic year. Application schedule is as follows.

• First-round review

  Tuesday, January 6, 2026 – Wednesday, January 7, 2026

• Announcement of candidates passing the 1st review:

  Friday, January 9, 2026

• Second-round review
  (interview test):

  Thursday, January 15, 2026

• Final announcement of successful candidates:

  Thursday, January 22, 2026

1. The Data Design Program enrolls approximately 30 students. First-year students in all Hitotsubashi University faculties are eligible to apply (approximately two thirds (20 students) of the successful candidates will be selected from the Faculty of Commerce and Management and remaining one third (10 students) from other faculties).
2. Candidates will be selected through a first-round review (document screening) based upon submitted documents and a second-round review (oral examination) of applicants who successfully passed the first-round review. The final decision on student acceptance will be based upon a comprehensive evaluation of the submitted documentation, oral examination, and grades.
3. Applicants submit a request to participate in the program and a personal statement explaining their reasons for applying. Recommendations are not required.
4. Concurrent application with the Shibusawa Scholar Program or other global leaders programs sponsored by other faculties is not possible.
